The Quarry

In the early years of the quarry the tools and technology were very basic. Hammers, chisels, pry bars and old truck springs sharpened at one end to split the stone free of the ledge were the main tools of the trade. As time and technology progressed air compressors, air drills, and air chisels came onto the scene as well as explosives to make things easier. Bucket loaders, excavators and bulldozers make handling the large pieces much easier, as the projects seem to want larger pieces of stone.
